Not a program. Not a formula. Not self-improvement dressed up in Christian language.
Where this came from
We are sensing a new season, and we are still learning what it looks like.
God is calling us into something deeper. In our lives, our vocations, our spaces. There are a lot of moving pieces and we do not have it worked out.
But we are discovering something. Most of us feel disconnected in our Christian lives not because God is distant, but because we are living at the surface. Busy with pursuits, distracted by comfort, going through the motions of faith.
So we feel called to build a fellowship. A close-knit group of people willing to go deeper together, to let the Spirit lead, to let the Word do its work, and to discover the fullness of life in Christ.
This is not something we have figured out. It is something we are sensing together, and we are inviting you into it.
Be clear about this
We are not planting a church yet. We are gathering.
We are a close-knit fellowship being shaped by God into whatever he is calling us to be. We may become a church in time. Today we are not one, and we would rather say that plainly than let anybody assume otherwise.
Why a fellowship, and not a community
A community can be large and diffuse. A fellowship is close enough to carry each other.
We are not a loose network. We are people bound to one another, walking together in dependence on Jesus. In practice that means eight things.
The real ones, not the polished versions.
Regularly, and specifically. Not as an add-on.
In faith, in vocation, and in whatever we are being called to.
Seeking each other's good and God's kingdom over our own comfort.
Not only gathering for meetings, but doing life side by side.
Some already know what they have been given to do. We want to help them get on with it rather than wait another decade.
Counsel, accountability, introductions, prayer and practical help. Almost nobody has this, and almost everybody needs it.
To help people study, learn, plan and reach further. Tools are not the point and they are not the enemy.
The obvious question
No, you do not have to leave your church.
Please do not. Stay where you are, and take whatever is useful here back into it.
We are not trying to draw people out of congregations. We are trying to help churches be more effective, by strengthening the people already in them and by putting resources in the hands of anybody who teaches, leads a group, or is simply trying to grow.
If you are a pastor or a leader, use the resources freely with your people. Print them, teach from them, take them apart and disagree with them out loud. That is what they are for.
And to be plain about the direction: we do intend to plant churches in time. Not by recruiting from other churches, but out of what God grows here.
Why any of this needs saying
We are in a real fight, and most of us are suited up but not standing firm.
This is not abstract theology. The enemy works to keep people enslaved to fear, to shame, to self-centredness, to compromise. To keep us distracted from God's purposes, divided in our families, and ineffective in what we have been called to.
The reason the battle is not flowing in most of our lives is not that God is short of power. It is that we are trying to fight in our own strength, with our own wisdom, half committed and half hearted.
God has given us armour, his Spirit to lead us, his Word to anchor us, and his power to overcome. We want to help each other recognise the tactics, stand firm, and learn what it actually means to fight. Not with anger or aggression, but with prayer, truth, faith and the presence of God.

What a gathering is
Open conversation. Not a lecture, and not a study group.
We come with something real, and we talk about it honestly. Somebody brings a question they are actually stuck on. Somebody brings something God has been saying. We open the Scriptures together, we pray for one another specifically, and we leave having built each other up rather than having taken notes.
Questions people are genuinely carrying, asked out loud, with nobody performing.
Not a lecture from the front. We read it, wrestle with it, and let it read us.
For each other by name, for families, for callings, and for the work God has given us.
Encouragement, counsel, hard questions where they are needed, and celebration when somebody says yes.

The core of what we are pursuing
Seven things. This is the core of what we are pursuing, in the middle of jobs, families, smartphones and AI.
Not in catacombs or upper rooms. In real life, with real work and real pressure, which is where the narrow path actually runs.
Why these seven and not others? Because they are the places we keep finding ourselves stuck. And because of the posture in Mark 9, where a man brings Jesus something he cannot fix and says, I believe; help my unbelief. That is roughly where we are starting from.
Neither replaces the other. The Word grounds us in truth. The Spirit gives us the power to live it.

Most of us live from a fractured sense of self, defined by performance and by what others think. There is a deeper place to stand.

Not finding your purpose. Learning to live in dependence on him, and becoming sensitive to what he is already doing.

Our families are not obstacles to God's purposes. They are part of them, and we want to be discipled together.

Not discipline and not guilt. Releasing our grip on control, image, comfort and security, which turns out to be freedom.

What we are writing
Resources that are genuinely there to equip you, and to help you understand.
The pattern was always the same. Somebody would ask something quietly, usually at the end of an evening. Is it alright for me to use AI at work. Which Bible should I buy. Why are there so many churches. What does calling even mean.
And the two answers available were both useless. One was enthusiasm with nothing serious in it. The other was suspicion, usually from people who had not looked into it, with spiritual words on top.
So we write what we could not find. Long enough to be honest, plain enough to read on a phone at eleven at night, and every one ends with a page saying where we might have got it wrong. A resource that cannot say that has not been tested.
No theological training needed for any of them. They are free, they are meant to be printed and copied, and nothing sits behind a login. We are writing at least one a week.

You do not need to be spiritually mature or to have the right background. You need to be willing to seek Jesus honestly, to pursue him earnestly, and to walk with others doing the same, weakness and all.
We gather online at the moment. That is deliberate rather than temporary: it lets us start with people wherever they are. As numbers grow in one place we will begin meeting as city cohorts, in person.
